Next, visit Takayama Jinya, a former government office that offers fascinating insight into the region’s samurai-era administration and architecture. Afterward, travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Shirakawa-go Village, renowned for its unique gassho-zukuri farmhouses with steep thatched roofs, designed to withstand heavy winter snow.
